A coalition – Wales for a Free Palestine – formed of groups including the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Black Lives Matter Cardiff & Vale, Stand up for Palestine, Cardiff Stop the War Coalition and the Muslim Council of Wales, organised the event, which heard from several Palestinian speakers among others.

The all-Wales Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign was also launched at the rally. Another protest has been organised for this coming Saturday, December 2nd, 12 noon at the Nye Bevan Statue, Queen St, Cardiff. Protesters are calling for a lasting ceasefire after Israel is set to resume its relentless bombing of Gaza following a week-long pause.

Already almost 15,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s assault, including over 8,000 children. One of the organsiser;s of this Saturday’s march, Black Lives Matter Cardiff and Vale, said:“The ‘ceasefire’ will end by this Saturday & Israel will continue their genocide of Palestine… We need to show them that we will not give up. Their biggest fear is our resilience.”Photos by Tom Davies (scroll for images)
